A Study on the Efficient Use of Fused Phosphate for the Improvement of Upland Soil Fertility

Abstract
In order to study the efficient use of fused phosphate on the improvement of fertility of poor red yellow soils in hilly lands distributed in the Korean peninsula, some experiments were conducted with a pot culture of chinese cabbage during the period from september 6, 1971 to november 12, 1972.
The results were summerized as follows;
1) Fused phosphate compared with super phosphate was more effective in promotion of soil pH in poor red yellow soils.
Therefore it resulted in good growth and yields of Chinese cabbage.
2) The best fertilization method using fused phosphate was mixing of large dose of it with whole soil a few days before sowing plant. Using this method, the optimum amount of fused phosphate was 180§¸/10a the highest beat yields of chinese cabbage.
3) In the experiments carried out with different doses of lime, the highest yields of Chinese cabbage was in soils pH around 6.8. But in was greatly decreased in soils the pH exceeding 6.8. From this, it is known that the amount of fused phosphate could be determined by the pH of soil.
